BIVOUAC RESTAURANT - MONTREAL

If you're looking for a place to enjoy tasty local cuisine before heading to Place des Arts for a show, this restaurant is the perfect place. Although not a romantic neighborhood restaurant, it is elegant and pleasant for chatting with friends. You will be immediately won over as soon as you step out of the elevator on the 6th floor. The culinary journey will truly begin when you enter the hotel lobby, where the restaurant is bathed in a warm, designer atmosphere. If you're lucky, you'll be able to admire a magnificent view of Sainte-Catherine Street and the city center. Although the ambiance is a bit noisy and impersonal due to the large size of the restaurant, it is quite charming for a couples getaway.

We were delighted by the culinary crescendo we experienced during the meal - each dish was more delicious than the last! The textural contrasts were absolutely magnificent. The restaurant offers a fine selection of Quebec wines and products, as well as exquisite cocktails. The only downside during our visit was the dim lighting, which made reading the menu a bit difficult.

TESTED ON THE MENU: Starters: 1. beef tartare, 2. egg, fried mushrooms, herb salad, truffle mouillettes 3. fried scallops, beet mousseline with haskap, beet pickles (a little cold but excellent). Main meal: 4. confit lamb shoulder, boreal spice crust, salsify gratin with pine nard, reduced lamb juice (exceptional). Dessert: 5. boreal pavlova, fir caramel (wow!), 6. sweet clover mille-feuille, caramelized pumpkin seeds.
