Finding an exceptional restaurant on the south shore of Montreal can be a challenge for epicureans. Chambly, one of the most beautiful municipalities in Montérégie, seduces with its basin, its historic fort and its locks. Among the gems of this region is La Cochonne Rit, a restaurant whose reputation and popularity need not be boasted. With such a memorable name, it's impossible to forget it. This restaurant offers two distinct atmospheres that perfectly reflect its specialties: seafood and beef. In summer, guests can also enjoy the terrace, although sometimes busy with Rue Bourgogne. If you are looking for a peaceful place to enjoy your meal, this may not be the ideal place.

The wine and cocktail list at La Cochonne Rit is simply captivating. We were particularly won over by their Espresso Martini, a true delight for lovers of coffee and exquisite cocktails. Although the menu has rarely changed over the past 10 years, we were pleasantly surprised by the new entrees offered on Saturday evening. The Burrata, with candied tomatoes, chorizo, olive oil and gremolata, served with a toasted loaf of bread, was simply divine. However, our absolute favorite was the braised leek, topped with pecorino cheese, roasted hazelnuts and a whole grain mustard vinaigrette. A true delight for the taste buds!

For the main course, we opted for their surf platter, which adapts with the seasons. This time, for $99, we enjoyed scallops, shrimp, crab, oysters, lobster tails, tartare and much more. A real feast for seafood lovers! It is important to note that the reputation of La Cochonne Rit's tartars is well established. Their freshness and flavor are simply incomparable.

And to top off this delicious meal, we tasted the New York cheesecake, a real explosion of flavors and creaminess which perfectly ended our culinary experience at La Cochonne Rit.

This wasn't our first visit to La Cochonne Rit, and it certainly won't be our last. Each experience in this restaurant leaves us pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cuisine, the warm atmosphere and the impeccable service. If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious food in a charming setting, La Cochonne Rit is an unmissable choice. We can't wait to return for new culinary discoveries and extend our love affair with this unique place.
