COUR ARRIERE RESTAURANT - Old Montreal
For foodies, the discovery of a new culinary gem is a real pleasure. When it is hidden in a setting as enchanting as Old Montreal, the pleasure is increased tenfold. This is precisely what we experienced during a lunch at Restaurant Cour Arrière, nestled in the backyard of the Saint-Sulpice hotel.
After hesitating between the coolness of the terrace and the comfort of the air-conditioned room, we opted for an ideal compromise: an indoor table, very close to the terrace. The lunch menu offered two options... We chose the three-course menu so as not to miss anything.
To start, we were seduced by the zucchini starter, a true symphony of flavors and colors. The zucchini, subtly prepared in barigoule, went wonderfully with the bacon and pistachios, creating an explosion of flavors in the mouth. Our favorite of this meal!
For the main course, we were seduced by the delicacy of the flavors. The pork loin with miso and accompanied by tender oyster mushrooms was a real delight. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The beef scoter with mashed smoked potatoes, a dish with a superb presentation, also won us over with its flavor and beauty. The combination of potato and smoke was perfect.
To end in style, the dessert of the day totally captivated us. An original and daring creation, adorned with a toasted marshmallow which brought a touch of irresistible indulgence. The flavors were perfectly balanced, a real journey for the taste buds.
We can only recommend that you discover this little gem hidden in the heart of Old Montreal. Chef Maxime Périard and his team have created a unique culinary experience, combining tradition and modernity. Congratulations and good luck!
